My twin sister and I started an AI venture called Mr. EzPz. Our mission is twofold: to support students in their educational journey, while pioneering the responsible use of Generative AI in ed-tech. We strive to set a benchmark for how GenAI can be leveraged to foster a more inclusive, empathetic, and efficient learning ecosystem.

HIGH-LEVEL PROCESS
My entrepreneurial experience was multifaceted, spanning every aspect of building a company from the ground up:
1. We started with ideation, hypothesis testing, and experimentation, followed by customer discovery and product design.
2. On the technical front, we developed AI/ML models while embedding responsible AI standards.
3. This process led to developing an MVP, conducting pilot testing, and refining through multiple iteration cycles before launching a scalable product.
4. We worked on shaping our business model to align with market needs, and offered an enterprise product for education institutions/groups. Additionally, we attended trade shows alongside major companies such as Dell and Microsoft to engage with B2B customers. Along the way, we pitched to investors, formed an advisory board, and navigated legal frameworks to ensure compliance and protect our intellectual property.
6. Managing finances and aligning our product with user feedback gave us a solid operational strategy.
7. We implemented marketing strategies to reach our target audience effectively and drive adoption.
PROBLEM & MOTIVATION
When students struggle with concepts in-class lectures and readings, they go online to seek clarity but feel completely unsupported by current online academic resources. To understand a single topic, we see our peers scramble through 8-10 websites, constantly switching tabs, and wasting many hours. The academic support they do find online is too generic, lacks depth, and is not aligned with their learning styles.
This inefficient studying process leads many of our peers to fall into a cycle of making sacrifices like regularly skipping meals and suffering from sleep deprivation, only to still have unimproved grades. We made a choice to not just sit and watch, but rather recollect, reinforce, and gather the knowledge to address the pain of students. We are here to stop this cycle.
We are building Mr. EzPz to advocate for students, providing a platform that allows them to improve learning outcomes while optimizing their time. Mr. EzPz understands each student’s class materials, personality, and learning style to create hyper-personalized learning experiences that are aligned with students' unique needs. This means that students can receive highly contextualized and quality academic support anytime and all in one place, leaving them more time to enjoy a happier and healthier daily life.
THE MAN BEHIND THE NAME
Character Persona/Design
Mr. EzPz is based on the phrase 'easy peasy' - which means something that is really simple. Just like the name suggests, Mr. EzPz represents the idea of making learning easy, enjoyable and light. He is intelligent, perceptive, thought-provoking. Mr. EzPz takes on a mentor role and cares for your aspirations, your academic struggles, and your self-fulfillment.
In designing Mr. EzPz, each element serves a specific purpose. His racial ambiguity ensures universal appeal, avoiding ethnic specificity. The non-human aspect, like playing with fire, adds a mystical, engaging quality, moving beyond a typical mentor figure. His playful energy, suggested by features like his long beard, makes him approachable and fun, breaking away from a conventional wise persona. Opting for a mature look over a youthful one emphasizes his wisedom. Lastly, we avoided designing him with standard human proportions to avoid any unsettling effects.
